48 Hours in Baltimore: A Weekend Itinerary
"Oriole Park at Camden Yards is home to the Baltimore Orioles, the official baseball team of Baltimore. This stadium houses thousands of adoring fans during baseball season, and it’s located right in the heart of downtown Baltimore. If you love baseball and care to check out this stadium, then you have to add this to your list of must-see places."
"Kids Cheer Free is a popular initiative that allows fans ages nine and younger to attend games at Oriole Park at Camden Yards free of charge. Plus, every Sunday home game during the summer kids can run the bases after the game, and some Friday nights Camden Yards hosts post-game music and fireworks. How awesome is that?"
"After you’ve satisfied your sweet tooth, take a quick stroll over to Camden Yards, home of the Baltimore Orioles. Here, you’ll find the statue of Baltimore native George Herman Ruth (a.k.a Babe Ruth) and a museum dedicated to the legend for all of you die-hard baseball fans out there!"
"Historic Ships in Baltimore is a unique museum-going experience, and is one that fits with Maryland’s rich history. Visitors can visit four different ships that played important roles in history, including the US Sloop-of-War Constellation, US Submarine Torsk, US Coast Guard Cutter Taney, Lightship 116 ‘Chesapeake.’ This is a wonderful, hands-on way to learn a great deal about the world through the stories of what these ships have seen. There is an audio tour that makes the experience even more delightful as you don’t have to keep stopping to read."
"Pier I 301 East Pratt Street Baltimore, MD 21202 (410) 539-1797www.historicships.org/private_parties.html. If you want to make the day you propose one to remember, then jump together with you loved one on board of one of the historic ships harbored in Baltimore. You can choose between the USS Constellation and the USCGC Taney."
"Located on the south side of the Inner Harbor, Federal Hill Park is one of the best spots to scope out Baltimore's skyline, walk or get some other form of exercise, and have a picnic. A beloved landmark in the city, the park and its more than 10 acres of grassy hilltop is known as the place where 4,000 patriots celebrated Maryland's ratification of the U.S. Constitution in 1788."
"This is THE perfect place to have a picnic and get the wiggles out on a visit to Baltimore. The views are quite possibly the best in the city AND there is a gated playground that your kids will love!"
"Nestled on the Inner Harbor’s south shore, this 10.3-acre park wows visitors with its stellar views of the downtown skyline."
"If you want to enjoy a breathtaking view of the city from a fresh and new perspective, you should head to the Top of the World on the 27th floor of the World Trade Center in Baltimore. You will be able to take in incredible 360 degree views with stationery binoculars to ensure you get the best views possible. There are also guides there to help you to learn more about the city."
"To get the best view of Baltimore and the Inner Harbor for a fairly reasonable price ($6 and under), make the Top of the World Observation a must-do on your Baltimore bucket list!"
"I went to this Cathedral for a wedding rehearsal and wedding. It is a breathtaking sanctuary in a tranquil neighborhood in Baltimore. A lovely place to… read more »"
"Though there is a location in the Inner Harbor, opt for the restaurant in tony Roland Park. This residential area is home to some of the state’s top prep schools, which also happen to have some of the best lacrosse teams in the country. (Lacrosse is the official team sport of Maryland, after all.) After you’ve passed through the streets of beautiful brick homes, grab a seat at Miss Shirley’s and order up a Maryland omelet, full of jumbo lump crabmeat."
"If you have the time, head over to Johns Hopkins University afterward and take a quiet nighttime stroll through one of Maryland’s most beautiful campuses as your last hoorah in Charm City! …And there you have it, folks – 48 hours in Baltimore!"
"Start your day off right, with a hearty breakfast in Baltimore‘s picturesque and popular area of the Inner Harbor — Fell’s Point. Make like a local and grab a seat at Jimmy’s Restaurant, a popular diner where you can chow down on a fluffy stack of pancakes or a giant piece of French toast for just $3 – 5. Wash those down with a coffee for $1.65 or a mimosa at $3.95. A cheap, filling start to your day, all while gazing out at the waterfront… need we say more?"
"So scoot on over to Fell’s Point. Home to a shipbuilding center that dates back to 1730 and more than 350 original residential structures, this historic waterfront neighborhood overflows with shops, restaurants, pubs and even a vibrant nightlife."
"Located right in the middle of Hampden’s option-filled “Avenue” (36th Street), Chef Chad Gauss’ electric Food Market can be a tough reservation — but the wait is worth it. Lighthearted in approach, but serious in execution, the menu sprints all over the map, culling classic and contemporary influences into dishes that are boisterous and big on flavor. The hearty, high-low approach — Fried Oysters “Carbonara,” Crispy Lobster Fingers with truffled honey mustard, and a hulking double bison burger with blue cheese and braised onions — covers everyone, so all you really need to bring is an appetite."
"My routine during quarantine has been for every 2-3 dinners that I cook, I grab carryout from one of my favorite spots, and that includes, of course, The Food Market. Their menu has been changing almost daily, but I can always expect to see some of my favorite dishes including the Amish Soft Pretzels, Roasted Beef Short Ribs, and Buffalo Pickles. Chef Chad and the team have also been throwing in some surprises with the occasional dinner special (last week there was a $20 crab cake)."
"We've eaten here so many times over the years and I've never had a bad experience. Whether takeout or dining in, the Food Market ALWAYS nails it so I was…”more"
"A welcoming bar and grill in busy Federal Hill, the Abbey lures serious burger enthusiasts with its creative signature creations, including the Greek-inspired Lamb Burger dressed in feta and herbed yogurt; B’more-to-the-core patties bathed in homemade crab dip; and a duck served Korean-style with spicy gochujang. But ask for the build-a-burger checklist if you’d like to flex your inner grill jockey. Unconventional meat options (bison! shrimp!), a variety of roll alternatives (pitas, lettuce wraps, tortillas), and nearly 60 different cheeses, sauces and toppings offer plenty of ways to go custom in Charm City."
"No list about Baltimore restaurants would be complete without the one consistently voted best in the city by Baltimore Magazine and Zagat. Co-owned by an eight-time James Beard finalist for Best Mid-Atlantic Chef, Charleston features artistic, sophisticated American/French fusion small plates served as prix-fixe menus of three to six courses. The wine list with over 600 options is also impressive, but the true selling point is the service: it’s refreshingly welcoming and lacks the pretentiousness normally associated with fine dining."

"Or, if you're willing to spend some money on a fancier dinner, try one of restauranteur Cindy Wolf's three places, Pazo, Cinghiale, or Charleston, which are all within walking distance. Photo couresy of bittermelon via Flickr"
"Just when I thought I couldn’t love MOM’s more 😍 It’s sooooo delicious!. The restaurant is, in essence, a modern lunch counter, tucked at the front of the Mom’s Organic Market in Hamden. The food you are served is a delight to the eyes and taste buds!"
"Johnny Rad’s Pizzeria Tavern tries to make a sincere effort to make most of their menu items vegetarian-friendly and/or vegan when achievable. If you have any queries about a specific item, please do not hesitate to ask. They proudly use vegetarian and vegan goods by Gardien, Beyond Meat, The Greener Kitchen- local, Morningstar Farms, and more."
