Best bend or Chinese Food Restaurants of 2021
"Try Bend’s newest riverfront eatery (and some pretty incredible sushi) at Chi Chinese and Sushi Bar. This prime piece of river-front real estate has changed hands a lot in the 18 years I’ve lived in Bend, so I was thrilled last month to see it’s been beautifully renovated and transformed into a brand new restaurant. Chi Chinese and Sushi Bar boasts a fabulous array of unique cocktails, tasty sushi creations, and traditional Chinese dishes with a gourmet flair."
"This restaurant on the edge of the Deschutes River made my list of 11 great spots for river view dining in Bend, so there’s more than just great sushi to be had at Chi Chinese and Sushi Bar. Enjoy cocktails and sushi with a river view at Chi. The happy hour here is one of the best in town, and their creative cocktail menu makes it tough to choose just one (so don’t pick—order both The Emperor and Mr. Chu and share with me!)"

"This is a good place to pick up an inordinate amount of food for reall... Easily the worst Chinese food I've ever eaten. I wanted to like it but..."
"Yes, Bend is right in the heart of Oregon high desert to the east and a mountain range to the west. The ocean is at least four hours away, and while there are plenty of fish in the Deschutes, they aren’t tuna. But if you know anything about quality sushi, the geographical location doesn’t matter all that much."
"One of Bend’s oldest and best-known riverfront restaurants, The Pine Tavern. Probably one of the most iconic restaurants in Bend, Pine Tavern has been operating since 1936, and is best known for mouthwatering sourdough scones with honey butter, and for the two pine trees (one dead, one living) that emerge from the center of the restaurant through the roof of the building. While those things are admittedly pretty awesome, so are the river views from Pine Tavern."
"Long-running, popular and traditional family-friendly restaurant near the river. Everyone should find something to like here, from the great half-pound burger to smoked-salmon salad to house meat loaf to rib-eye..."
"Fresh off a trip to the mountain, stop by Tetherow’s The Row, the popular 19th hole of the golf resort, for a warm treat. The Oregon Cider Berry Cobbler offers something light as an alternative to the rich, heavy desserts that often come after winter meals. It’s a deconstructed cobbler, with two perfect slices of biscuit, a dollop of ice cream, and whole strawberries, blackberries and blueberries baked together in a sea of sweetness."
"Family friendly, large tv’s and open for breakfast, lunch, dinner and nightcaps 7 days a week. Dine-in, takeout, or curbside pickup options available."
"Tends to draw a pretentious type crowd, but it’s a golf course so. I know it’s not California, but it’s silicone val..."
"For a bite in Southeastern Bend, this Hawaiian cart serves super-fresh, well-adorned poke in bowls over rice, topped with crispy fried shrimp, or alongside tender kalua pig and mac salad. The specials board often includes some cool, hard-to-find dishes in Bend, like saimin and steamy pastele stew. It’s open for walk-up orders."
"At a glance: Hawaiian food truck known for poke bowls and friendly service. We’re huge fans of poke bowls, and this place is amazing!. Everything is super fresh, the portions are generous and the prices are reasonable."
"One of Bend’s most expansive parks, Pine Nursery Park offers a little (or a lot!) of everything. This 159-acre whopper of a park boasts softball fields, soccer fields, pickleball courts, a disc golf course, a fishing pond, a playground, and a 14-acre dog park known as the Bob Wenger Memorial Off-Leash Area. The Bob Wenger Memorial Off-Leash area is one of many amazing features of Pine Nursery Park."
"Below is an image on the day of the Total Solar Eclipse on Hosmer Lake. But summer doesn’t last all year and as many of you know, Bend is known for the snow and skiing on Mt. Bachelor. While I am not a down hill skier, I do love to take my dogs cross country skiing or go by myself at a handful of different parks along the Cascade Lakes Highway headed to Mt. Bachelor. Usually, I head up in the morning to make the most of the snow, and then return down the hill for a leisurely rest of the day."
