"At Somebody People, the seasonal dinner menu tops out at about 12 dishes, but there’s not a weak link among them. A typical meal here might start with a handsomely plated snack of pesto-daubed almond skordalia served with crudités beneath a cap of shaved fennel; continue with charred broccolini atop roasted eggplant puree amid dollops of golden-raisin gremolata; and culminate in a handmade pasta. The flavor combinations are complex yet crystal-clear from beginning to end."
"This brightly colored, plant-filled, cute-and-cozy restaurant is one of the best vegan restaurants in Denver with its Mediterranean-leaning menu full of housemade pasta, risotto, and more. One thing we find really refreshing about Somebody People is the fact that you’ll never see fake meats on their menu. We strongly recommend their Carrot Bolognese, made with their funghetto pasta and paired with grilled-smoked oyster mushrooms and chimichurri sauce."
"Somebody People brings fresh, rustic Mediterranean flavors to Denver by celebrating local seasons and whole vegetables. The unique take on these classic veggies will have you second-guessing everything you thought you knew about vegetables."
"Three friends from Japan are introducing to the Denver to authentic Japanese treats such as Matcha-dusted doughnut twists, custard-filled cornets, and karepan, a fried bread filled with curry at this new and modern cafe and bakery. The fluffy, soft and slightly sweet milk bread has quickly become a favorite, as have the flaky tarts topped with fruit."
"This is a great place to experience a Japanese take on coffees and pastry. The Tokyo Premium Bakery sells delightfully light and fragrant drinks like Matcha Lattes and Hojicha. Don’t leave this shop without nibbling on a Japanese pastry such as their fan favorite Red Bean Filled Buns or traditional Melon Buns."
The Bundt Shoppe
4.7 (52 ratings)
Bakeshop serving a variety of retail & custom bundt cakes topped with buttercream-cheese frosting.
"(pronounced "true") has one clear mission: to provide "a rad place to hang out and drink killer beer." Our verdict?. Its chaotic, heavy-metal atmosphere will leave you feeling anything but ordinary, and its beer is far from boring. It doesn’t take brewing too seriously, adhering to Colorado’s laid-back vibe."
"You better be hardcore if you want to try a brew from TRVE (pronounced “true”). This company has been around since 2012 and they brew craft beers that are “beyond the pale,” according to the company website. “To us this implies new ideas, channeling Loki, and embracing chaos,” the website says."
"Because what’s more metal than killer farmhouse ales and grisettes?. Nothing, that’s what. If you like metal, or are just looking for a wild night, TRVE should be one of your top destinations on your trip to Denver."
Green Mountain Beer Company: local taproom with craft beer
"Stop by Green Mountain Brewery near Morrison Road and South Kipling Parkway. This neighborhood pub specializes in European and American style craft beers. It’s kid-friendly and dog-friendly, and you’ll often find the outdoor seating area packed with people when the weather’s nice."
"Any park with a lake has built-in appeal in our relatively dry city, but Garfield Lake ups the ante with a forest grove in the center that takes on spectacular hues in the fall. Picnic tables, a pool, bike/pedestrian paths, sports fields and a playground offer a little something for everyone in this tidy park, which has often been called one of Denver’s most pleasant strolls."
Babi Yar Memorial Park
4.7 (394 ratings)
This living cultural memorial in the shape of the Star of David features paths, trees & art.
"Rabbi Raymond Zwerin, one of the original founders of Babi Yar Park, walks through two very large inscribed granite gates at the entrance to the park in Denver near the intersection of Yale Ave and Havana on Aug. 4, 2011. Babi Yar Park memorializes the massacre of 200,000 people — mostly Jews — in the Babi Yar Ravine in Kiev Ukraine USSR between Sept. 29, 1941, and Nov. 6, 1943, in the hands of the Nazis during World War II. Named after a Ukrainian massacre site, Babi Yar opened in 1982 to commemorate the Holocaust with some of Denver’s most striking, minimalist public art and design elements."
