Head to the iconic Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore and explore the beautiful sand dunes. Enjoy some sand sledding on the dunes, or take a hike up the dune climb. Day 3: Bike the Heritage Trail

Rent bikes and ride along the Sleeping Bear Heritage Trail. This paved path takes you through forests, wetlands, and meadows and offers stunning views of Lake Michigan. Make sure to stop at the various overlooks along the way for incredible photo opportunities. End the day with dinner at one of the local restaurants in Empire.

Day 4: Visit the Village of Empire

Spend the day exploring the quaint village of Empire. Take a self-guided walking tour of the town, browse the shops, and enjoy lunch at one of the local restaurants. Don't forget to visit the Empire Bluff Overlook for breathtaking views of Lake Michigan.

Day 5: Relax at Platte River Beach

Spend the day relaxing at Platte River Beach. Work on your tan, swim in the lake, or build a sandcastle with the kids. There are plenty of picnic tables and grills available for a picnic lunch. Rent kayaks or paddle boards and explore the river, or go fishing for trout and salmon.

Day 6: Visit the Lighthouse

Visit the historic Point Betsie Lighthouse and learn about its importance to the area. Go for a walk around the grounds and spot wildlife, then head to the gift shop for some souvenirs. Afterward, drive to Frankfort and explore the charming downtown district. Enjoy dinner at one of the local restaurants before heading back to your cabin.

Day 7: Boat Tour of South Manitou Island

End your trip with a boat tour of South Manitou Island. See the island's unique geology, observe the wildlife, and explore the abandoned buildings. Afterwards, drive back to your cabin and spend the rest of the evening stargazing and enjoying the peacefulness of Sleeping Bear Dunes.
