"Ranked among the best zoos in the country by USA Today and America's only mountain zoo, Cheyenne Mountain Zoo spans 140 acres and features more than 750 animals across varied terrain, as well as fun Mountaineer Sky Ride over the Rocky Mountain goats and grizzly bears. You don’t need to be a child to enjoy a zoo—not to mention the award-winning Cheyenne Mountain Zoo!. Located only ten minutes from our resort, this unique zoo experience guarantees genuine animal interactions."
"Located more than 6,700 feet above sea level, the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo is the “highest” zoo in the United States, and it’s one of the only ones in the world to be built into a mountain. It’s home to hundreds of animals, including several endangered species, and it’s a registered nonprofit organization dedicated to conservation and wildlife preservation. What does this mean for you as a visitor?"
"4250 Cheyenne Mountain Zoo RdColorado Springs, CO 80906(719) 633-9925. Established originally in 1926, this 40-acre zoological park is the perfect pit stop for families."
"The Deerfield Hills park and sprayground are located at the Deerfield Community Center, but you do not have to be a member to enjoy the playground and water features. The playground has equipment for small children and large grassy areas to run. My kids, especially the toddlers, love splash parks."
"According to the Colorado Springs Visitor Center, "The Jicarilla Apaches, who lived in the Pikes Peak region around 1000 AD, passed on legends of a cave where the Great Spirit of the Wind resided", this cave is speculated to be the very same cave!. This particular cave has had guided tours since 1881. Take the Discovery Tour (a 45-minute tour) or the Lantern Tour (a 90-minute tour). Tours leave every 15-30 minutes (depending on the tour) and since they close at 9pm, the last tour leaves at 8:30pm."
"Pikes Peak (14,110ft) may not be the tallest of Colorado's 54 14ers, but it's certainly the most famous. The Ute originally called it the Mountain of the Sun, an apt description for this majestic peak, which crowns the southern Front Range. Rising 7400ft straight up from the plains, over half a million visitors climb it every year."
"Day 3: Visit Garden of the Gods and Pikes Peak, then Drive to Estes Park Start Early in Garden of the Gods"
"If soft-serve is your jam, you’ll find yourself at home at Frozen Gold!. This trendy South Tejon joint is serving up ice cream in the most unique fashion — enjoy flavors crafted with unsuspecting ingredients like Cheetos, Pop Rocks, and potato chips. Frozen Gold shares the block with some other vibrant spots, like Dos Santos, Atomic Cowboy, CO.A.T.I and Cork and Cask, making it the perfect “night-cap” stop after an evening of eating and drinking on the town!"
"Frozen Gold is one of the new kids on the block here in Downtown Colorado Springs, joining other fun spots on South Tejon Street like Dos Santos, Atomic Cowboy, and Cork and Cask. They’re serving up soft serve ice cream like you’ve never had it before — using toppings like salted potato sticks, Cheetos, and Pop Rocks. Their ice cream isn’t the only thing that’s funky."

"Enjoy an array of classic diner treats such as Bacon Cheeseburgers, Chicken Parmesean, Buffalo Strips and more. They’re all 100% vegan. And, they’re so full of flavour that they’re sure to change the mind of even the most stubborn carnivore on the creativeness of vegan dishes."
"Located at 3220 Austin Bluffs Parkway in northeast, it is the highest-rated fast food restaurant in Colorado Springs, boasting 4.5 stars out of 250 reviews on Yelp."
"This is a great hike when you have kids who like landmarks along the hike. The trail follows the stream, and kids can count off the 7 bridges as you go. There are trails to go further beyond the seventh bridge, but a local guide I spoke with said it’s not as interesting and could be tedious for kids."
