"Nashville has some brutally hot summers, so what better way to cool off than with the best ice cream in town?. Jeni’s has a a few flavors that are regulars on the menu and you’ll never go wrong by ordering them, but it also has a constantly rotating menu of new flavors that change with the weather depending on what’s in season. They’re very generous with the free samples (so try as many as you need to in order to find the one that’s right for you)..."
"I LOVE JENI’S ICE CREAM. And now that there are multiplelocations in Nashville, my waistline is in immediate danger. I finally met Jeni Britton Bauer at the opening of her Hillsboro Village store—dangerously close to where I live—and had a major fangirl moment. I’ve tried about every flavor she makes, and while you can’t go wrong, the combo of salty caramel and brown butter almond brittle is always my favorite."
"Nashvillians love Jeni’s so much that they’ve expanded to six locations. You can also buy pints of their ice cream goodness in plenty of stores around town. Jeni’s Splendid Ice Creams | Hillsboro Village, 12 South, Germantown, East Nashville, Brentwood, Franklin"
"2031 Broadwaycaviarandbananas.com; 615-340-9005 After her recent stint as pastry chef supervisor at Gaylord Opryland Resort, Lexi Francisco is now bossing around all the desserts at the Nashville location of the Charleston, S.C.-based Caviar & Bananas as their executive pastry chef. And they have really fallen in line, thanks to her excellent supervision. We’re talking mouth-wateringly flaky pastries, sugar-sprinkled chewy cookies, frosted layer cakes bigger than hatboxes, lattice-work pies, handmade truffles, tricolor petit fours… I could go on."
"Three Brothers Coffee, located on the West End, is a hip coffee joint attached to Cumberland Transit — Nashville’s oldest outdoors and bike shop. The location is practically made for Instagram, so grab a speciality drink like the “Huntress,” made with apple butter, clove, nutmeg, and orange. Then, follow my lead and strike your best pose in an alleyway adorned with funky, geometric designs."
"Get your creative juices flowing with a morning dose of caffeine at this hip coffee shop by Vanderbilt University. Their outdoor alley is the perfect place to kick off your adventure. photo by @chloe_barbu"

"Coco Greens is a fully vegan restaurant that offers lots of healthy meals. While the entrees we ordered weren’t anything to write home about, they were delicious, healthy and filling. It’s the kind of restaurant that you could eat at multiple times in one day and still feel light and satisfied…more like healthy, home-cooked plant based dishes!"
"If you're looking for a truly unique place to try, look no further than Coco Greens. They offer a completely vegan menu including pre-made and cold press juices, vegan desserts, and a full list of dine-in and take-out selections such as zucchini hummus or quinoa stir fry."
"Dozen is Nashville’s best-kept secret in that every local I know names it among their top lunch spots, but we rarely tell anyone else about it because it’s already packed enough as it is. But you deserve to know about Dozen because not only are the fresh bread and other baked goods mouthwateringly good, but the lunch combos—I always do the half-and-half option with a tartine and whatever grain salad they’re making that week—are some of the freshest dishes you’ll have in all of Nashville."
"These top-notch locally crafted cookies are made from all-organic ingredients and are found at spots like Crema, Hot & Cold, Thistle Stop Cafe, and the bakery's location inside the Nashville Farmer's Market. 900 Rosa L Parks Blvd; 615-509-9680;dozen-nashville.com"
"Music City wouldn’t be an accurate name for Nashville, Tennessee without a museum dedicated to country music. Located in the entertainment district of downtown Nashville, the Country Music Hall of Fame provides over 40,000 square feet of music history and so much more. This unique museum and research center can offer any visitor the chance to learn about and enjoy the history of a strictly American musical genre."
"Established in 1966, The Tennessee Sports Hall of Fame is a nonprofit organization dedicated to the preservation of Tennessee’s sports heritage. With vintage uniforms and artifacts, the museum honors athletes, coaches, sportswriters, and administrators who have made an impact on Tennessee sports history. "Many award-winning athletes have come out of Tennessee, including Daren Bates, Reggie Grimes and Jalen Reeves-Maybin. The Tennessee Sports Hall of Fame and Museum celebrates them all, and it’s conveniently located in downtown Nashville. Browse the displays and exhibits that showcase the history of the state’s finest sportsmen."
"The Tennessee Sports Hall of Fame connects athletes, coaches and fans through exhibits that honor accomplishments on and off the field. Tickets are under $5 for adults, so this is a great place for a cheap day out!"
"While Historic Mansker's Station isn't exactly a museum, I think it's a great stop for families looking to add some history into their Nashville visit. The Middle Tennessee area has several antebellum homes that explore the history of the area, including the Civil War and the tragedy of slavery. However, Historic Mansker's Station is my pick thanks to their hands-on demonstrations of frontier life."
"At Historic Mansker’s Station guests are able to experience the life of a frontier settler and life on a plantation. Mansker’s Fort is a replica log station that was built in the early 1780’s. The original Bowen House is the oldest standing brick home in Middle Tennessee and was constructed in 1787."

"The Owen Bradley Park is named in honor of the legendary Nashville songwriter and producer, Owen Bradley. He was one of the creators of the iconic “Nashville Sound” during the latter part of the 1950’s and was inducted in 1974 into the Country Music Hall of Fame. The little park is situated at Music Row’s northern end and was dedicated to Owen Bradley in 1997."
