The 10 Best Restaurants in Honolulu, Hawaii
"If like Loz, you prefer a sweet start to your day then Sweet E’s is one of the best places to eat in Oahu for one reason – French Toast. French toast so good, the landlord had to hire a security guard for the car park as Sweet E’s quickly became the best brunch in Oahu for those with a sweet tooth. The car park chaos got so bad, Sweet E’s moved venues to Kapahulu Avenue though still expect a crowd, particularly on weekends!"
"Will be a regular visit for us every trip back to Oauhu.Off the beaten path, 2 mile from our East Waikiki condo. Local spot with great wait staff, self sign in..."
"Hoku's, located in the Kahala Hotel & Resort in the upscale east Honolulu neighborhood, offers couples innovative dishes which deftly meld Hawaiian, Asian, Mediterranean and European flavors. The hotel's signature restaurant recently revamped its menu, too and features culinary delights such as the "Aburi" Kampachi carpaccio, king crab and kinki fish bouillabaisse hot pot and "sous-vide" California squab. The menu also has helpful wine pairing for entrees, and gluten, nut and egg free designations next to certain dishes."
"Hoku’s Restaurant at the Kahala Hotel is the epitome of luxury. The stylish waterfront restaurant inside the Kahala Hotel offers a delicious, elegant dinner menu. However, they’re known for their lavish Sunday brunch, which includes everything from rack of lamb to Alaskan king crab."
"After Brue Bar vacated its pop-up spot at Paiko, it left a coffee-shaped hole in the botanical boutique, one that could only be filled by this Australian-style coffee shop. Get your java buzz the Down-Under way, with a Long Black (think super-strong Americano) or a Flat White (like a latte, but with less foam). If a liquid breakfast or lunch isn’t enough to get you moving, the café is home to some pretty eye-pleasing and delicious snacks, like loaded avocado toasts and matcha chia seed pudding layered with fruits and edible flowers."
"Location: 324 Coral Street Suite 1A-104b, Honolulu, HI 96813, United States. Not gonna lie, the décor is a macramé loving millennial dream – succulents meet retro sun brollies topped off with hipster servers. Although service was a little slow (we received our food before our coffees, a pet peeve) we’ll let them off, as it gave us more time to absorb this real-life Pinterest board."
"Arvo Cafe is actually an Australian coffee shop and surprisingly, is one of the best ones in Honolulu. The cafe itself is actually right next to a flower shop and having a cup of joe’s here can feel like you’re sipping on it in a botanical garden. It’s also a lovely place to take some great pictures."
"Heavenly Island Lifestyle is a health-conscious cafe that’s local first, organic whenever possible. This spot sources high-quality ingredients from across the islands resulting in super tasty food, especially the Flat Omelet (pictured). Their Morning Veggie dish is said to help with jet lag recovery."
"This restaurant promotes ingredients grown on the island in a very delicious way. Although the prices here are fairly high, it is only because Heavenly Island Lifestyle offers dishes that other venues cannot replicate, like pork belly eggs Benedict, or their Big Island honey French toast."
"Usual Hawaiian food is quite tasty but it is also unhealthy. This place has given a healthy twist to it and people can tickle their taste buds with something healthy. The location of the place is the Shoreline Hotel and it is also chic and casual."
"Plumeria Beach House is located at the Kahala Resort near where my family lives. It is one of our go-to spots for brunch or lunch when celebrating a birthday or something special. It's ocean-front, the food is good, and it's much nicer than most things you will find in Waikiki yet still very close to Waikiki"
"The Plumeria Beach House is an award-winning restaurant at the Kahala Hotel & Resort. It serves brunch on a stunning outdoor patio where fresh breezes blow from the ocean. You can get breakfast from 6:30 am to 11:30 am on weekdays and until noon on weekends."
"It may be a beauty, but it’s certainly a moody one. Waimea Bay changes dramatically with the seasons: it can be tranquil and flat as a lake in summer, then savage in winter, with the island’s meanest rip currents. Typically, the only time it’s calm enough for swimming and snorkeling is from June to September, maybe October. Winter water activities at this beach are not for novices – the waves at Waimea can get epically huge."
"Park Description and Highlights: This forested area in Aiea is home to the Keaiwa Heiau, hiking trails, picnic areas, and campsites. Situated in a residential neighborhood, it’s most used by local residents. Suggested Visit: The ‘Aiea Loop Trail."
"The age-old combination of food, wine, and music finds expression in Formaggio, the enoteca run by owners of an adjoining wine shop. Retaining the feel of an undiscovered gem, the restaurant features a small but distinguished selection of wines that are poured by the glass and by the flight. Dishes like a Cubano roast pork panini, artichoke and chicken sausage pizza, and osso buco are tasty and priced right."
"Lively spot serving mezcal cocktails and street tacosThe name doesn’t exactly scream Mexican restaurant (nor does the DJ who was spinning some serious hip-hop during a recent First Friday) but this is actually the perfect stop for tasty street tacos on the cheap -- not a one over 3 bucks -- along with a solid selection of mezcals and a fun after-work scene with plenty of bar seating and a back patio that’s good for groups sharing pitchers of margaritas. The place also offers an unprinted “beer nerd” menu for, well, you know who you are."
