"There’s a case to be made that Burial is one of North Carolina’s best breweries, let alone Asheville’s. From the eye-catching can art to the rusted farm equipment adorning the South Slope District taproom’s walls, Burial appears to have a spiritual connection with the metalheads at TRVE Brewing Co. in Denver. Hardcore comparisons aside, Burial excels at nearly every beer style."
"Burial Beer Co | Address: 40 Collier Ave, Asheville, NC 28801, USA Twin Leaf Brewing | Address: 144 Coxe Ave, Asheville, NC 28801, USA"
"Hi-Wire Brewing, which opened in 2013 soon after Wicked Weed, has become one of the more established breweries in Asheville. Since then, Hi-Wire has opened a second Asheville location as well as spots in Durham and Knoxville, TN. The circus-themed brewery produces a wide variety of beers but has earned acclaim for its tart kettle sours, complex wild ales, and easy-drinking lagers. Hi-Wire is a fundamental part of the Asheville community and is worth a visit any time you’re in town."
"Hi-Wire Brewing’s passion for craft beer shines through in every brew they create, making it one of the best breweries near Asheville, NC. They have a light-hearted circus theme that embodies the fun and creative aspect of the craft. Their beers can be found around the area at bars and restaurants, and their tasting room is always a good time. Just keep an eye out for the building that’s painted in rainbow colors– once you see it, you’re in the right place!"
"Hi-Wire’s Big Top location, which features a beer garden, taproom, event space, and where all of Hi-Wire’s beers are made, embodies the spirit of Asheville – a place where community, fun, art, and creativity are fostered. I love the atmosphere at Hi-Wire Brewing Big Top the most. It’s housed in an industrial warehouse, with indoor/outdoor seating with walls painted in bright, whimsical colors and motifs inspired by a real-life “big top” circus tent!"
"If you stayed in the River Arts District or headed to South Slope for a brewery visit, then I'd recommend going to Buxton Hall Barbecue for dinner. This BBQ spot in South Slope is run by James Beard Nominee Elliott Moss, and serves up true Carolina barbecue in an airy space with an open kitchen. They smoke whole hogs, and I swear their pulled pork was some of the best I've ever eaten!"
"There are so many things I love about Buxton Hall BBQ. The location is right downtown close to a bunch of breweries, which is perfect if you want to grab lunch before, after, or during your brewery crawl. The building is an old warehouse that they turned into a huge open space dining area with an industrial chic vibe. The fried chicken sandwich is the best in town."
"Some of Asheville’s most famous BBQ restaurants include Buxton Hall BBQ or Luella’s Bar-B-Que. North Carolinians will argue that their BBQ is the best in the world, so if you’re from out of state, you really can’t miss this regional delight."
"Separated into two floors, you’ll find refreshing and innovative American craft beers to enjoy upstairs, and on the first floor, you’ll find some of the brewery’s best Belgian and other European rare beers. The latter fits well with the brewery’s name, Thirsty Monk, which harkens back to the Belgian monks who brewed beer in the Middle Ages. With more than 30 beers on tap and more than 100 bottles to choose from, there’s certainly something for everyone here."
"A post shared by Thirsty Monk (@monkpub) on Dec 31, 2019 at 3:22pm PST. Thirsty Monk is a nice and cozy bar that is famous for its wide selection of beer, most especially their Belgian beer!. Drinking here would feel like you’re somewhere in Europe."

Featuring a balcony with mountain views, this rooftop bar promises “small plates, with big views.” Capella on 9 offers farm-to-table, curated tapas-style dishes and handcrafted drinks. With fire pits to keep you warm and toasty, this is an ideal spot to cozy up and enjoy the view."

"The brewery is located at the Hi-Wire production facility and has a lot of tables inside the building along with a great outside seating area. The brewery doesn’t serve food but there was a food truck in the parking lot that had a great selection. With plenty of room inside for kids and outside this is a great family brewery destination."
"Catawba Brewing Company is my favorite Asheville brewery with food!. This wasn’t our first trip to Catawba and it certainly won’t be the last. With friends or family, Catawba is one of the best places to go to get a good beer, even better food, and listen to live local music."
"Afterward, check out some of Asheville’s amazing local breweries in the South Slope Brewery District. Many of these breweries offer cheap draft pints or flights of several beer samples. You can try one or all of them!. Some of the best breweries in this area include:"
"Family owned and operated for over 20 years, Jerusalem Café brings delightful, fresh, authentic Mediterranean and Middle Eastern cuisine to the area. The café features a Tapas, Brunch, Lunch, Dinner and a Dessert menu. The location downtown is convenient to many points of interest, and live entertainment is featured every Friday and Saturday night along with bellydancing."
"Rich colors adorn the dining room of this Middle Eastern restaurant, and a back room, known as "the tent," features low tables with pillow seating and exotic chandeliers. On Saturday nights, belly dancers entertain guests and a special menu is served in the tent Thursday-Saturday nights. Reasonable, tasty fare and inexpensive drinks add to the café's popularity."
"When some of the other downtown Asheville restaurants get slammed, it’s nice to sneak into Jerusalem Garden Cafe. The atmosphere is colorful, serene, and delicious. Jerusalem Garden Cafe specializes in Mediterranean and Middle Eastern cuisine."
